The Cordova Community Council was founded in 1959 as an “organization of organizations,” a forum for citizens to meet, dream about the future and plan community celebrations like fireworks on the Fourth of July. The legacy of mutual support and collaboration nurtured by the Cordova Community Council has become a hallmark of Rancho Cordova community life for almost six decades, and has helped earn our reputation as a place of collaboration and innovation.
Today, as the Cordova Community Council surges ahead into its second half century, it remains true to those original goals. Together with the City of Rancho Cordova and Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce, the Cordova Community Council has spread its wings to help Rancho Cordova soar to even greater heights. That effort was rewarded in 2010 when Rancho Cordova was named an “All-America City” by the National Civic League, affirming the work that has taken place and establishing a high bar for future accomplishments as we continue to grow and evolve into the city we wish to be. As we like to say at the Cordova Community Council, “We Make the Magic!”
The Cordova Community Council Foundation is recognized by the federal government as a bona fide 501 (c) 3 public benefit non-profit organization. It resides within Rancho Cordova City Hall and is reflected in the inspiring work of its many member organizations and active citizen and business members.
